1. PLAYER REGISTRATION:
Online registration will begin on Wednesday, January 3, 2025. Registrations must be made online. PONY Age (13-14U) (7th and 8th Grade) players MUST also register online at this time as well.

Any player registering after February 28, 2025 is not 100% guaranteed a spot in the league. Registration will close once the maximum number of players is reached for the number of teams established. A waiting list may be created for any player registering after this date.  (Players 9-12 years of age must register and participate in spring league in order to try out for a summer team).

2. REGISTRATION FEES:
The 2025 Spring league registration fee is $105 per player.  All fees are to be paid at registration unless alternative arrangements are made. Hardship Policy: Payment plans may be arranged for league and/or tournament team fees.

Scholarships are also available for players with severe financial hardship. Contact GLYB President, Jason Smith at [email protected] for information. All inquiries and requests are strictly confidential.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES: Are not required at registration.  They will be needed if your player plays on a Summer team.

3. 15-YEAR OLD 8TH GRADERS:
With permission, 8th graders who are 15 (Colt age) may practice with and participate on a GL Pony (13 & 14 year old division) team during league play. However, tournament teams are based on age divisions alone, and all league age 15 year-old players are required to play at the Colt (15 & 16 year old division) for the summer baseball season. If you have a player that is in the 8th grade and will be 15 on or before April 30, 2025 this will apply to you. Please contact Jason Smith, League President at [email protected] for additional information.

4. COACHING APPLICATIONS:
See coaches application under Coaching Info Tab.

5. MUSTANG (10U) & BRONCO (12U) SPRING LEAGUE:
Teams will be formed following the league's draft process on March 9 . Players will be notified by their coach for the date, time & location of the team's first practice. Every effort will be made to accommodate the wishes of each player at this age level relative to league/ tournament baseball participation; however, this will be contingent based upon the number of players that register and the participation desires of those players and the available coaching candidates.

At the discretion of Grand Ledge Youth Baseball, failure to comply with this rule shall result in discipline, suspension, and/or removal from the team.

Tryouts for the Bronco 12U (6th grade), Bronco 11U (5th grade) PONY 14 and PONY 13 will be held on March 16. All tryouts are in the auxiliary gym at Grand Ledge High School.  Mustang 10U (4th grade) Mustang 9U (3rd grade) will be held on April 21 at the softball complex.

The Summer team tryout and selection process is available on the league's website (follow the Tournament Teams tab for complete details). In summary, a minimum of two teams will be selected by the league's tournament team selection committee at each age level.

There will be a one (1) week quiet period during the tournament season where no practices or games can be scheduled for 7 consecutive days. We encourage coaches to establish the quiet week to include the weekend either immediately prior to or immediately after the 4th of July.

If a team's schedule is such that these weekends are scheduled for tournament play, an alternative quiet week period may be substituted, subject to the approval in advance by the League President.

SUMMER TEAM FEE:
The 2025 summer team fee is $375 and will be required to be paid via check at the tryouts (payment arrangements and/or scholarships are available if necessary). This fee is in addition to the $105 paid at time of registration.
